Samma Sankappa is the third in the "Samma" series of Music for Meditation by Energi (Now "Zen Music").
Timed meditation sessions feature The Heart Sutra Mantra beautifully chanted in Sanskrit by ordained Buddhist Ngakpa, accompanied by traditional Tibetan prayer bells, karatalas cymbals, and gongs. A Sati (mindfulness) bell begins and finishes each session.
This especially-designed music aids concentration by creating a calm environment, free from distractions and outside influences. It has been designed to be of special assistance to those who may experience drowsiness during their meditation practice.
"Samma Sankappa" takes its name from the ancient Pali language, and translates as "Right Intention" or "Right Resolve" – one of the principle steps of The Noble Eightfold Path, from the “Magga-vibhanga Sutta" teachings taught by Buddha Sakyamuni – and of great importance to Buddhist practitioners.
The chant, or mantra, is the "Prajñaparamita" mantra – the mantra of the perfection of wisdom. It can be found in The Heart Sutra, which is a teaching on the nature of reality from the Buddha. It is basically an emptiness teaching and the mantra is the essence or pith of the wisdom that understands reality and liberates beings.
The mantra is written: "Ta Ya Ta – Om Gate Gate, Paragate, Parasamgate, Bodhi Svaha"
Translated from the Sanskrit it means: "Gone, gone, Gone beyond... Gone completely beyond... Enlightenment!"
Timed meditation sessions, especially designed for walking, sitting and meditation preparation, featuring soothing Tibetan Prayer bells and The Heart Sutra Mantra. A Sati (mindfulness) bell begins and finishes each session.
"Samma Sankappa" is relaxation music and is ideal as a meditation timer – each track contains a Sati (Mindfulness) bell at the beginning and the end. Especially designed for deep devotional immersion meditation, (walking as well as sitting practice) and meditation preparation, it is also useful for yoga or just as calming background music in restful environments, such as spas, or at home. This track is designed in three version-lengths for individual meditation requirements – 10-minute, 20-minute and 30-minute…or you can play the whole 60-minutes of calming music rhythms.
